Introduction to Sanskrit
Saturdays 12:30 - 2:00 PM • The Cube
4-week session: March 7 - 28 • No materials required
A meditative approach to learning the ancient language of yoga.
We start with an Intro to the Sanskrit Devanagari alphabet. We learn by chanting and writing the letters. It is a practice, kind of like the way we learn the physical poses on our mats. We always chant the alphabet at the start, like warming up with the Sun Salutations.
This practice is not about memorizing things from a book. Instead, studying Sanskrit is more like a form of meditation. It helps to cultivate concentration, and it is also fun!
This is a 4-week series: March 7, 14, 21, & 28
Students are encouraged to attend as many classes as possible. Each session builds on the previous one, deepening your understanding and practice.
